FAQ – frequently asked questions
Workshops
Where do the workshops take place?
All workshops, on the days Saturday to Monday, are in the Bewegungswelten Studios, Stresemannstraße 374 b, 22761 Hamburg-Altona, Germany.
Which course takes place in which of the five studios can be found in the program, which you can also download as a PDF file. During the festival days it will be displayed at several places in the studio.
Do I have to register for the individual workshops?
No, you just need to order a festival ticket.
On each of the festival days we post lists for the individual workshops in the morning. Here you can register so that we can get an overview of the group size.
We deliberately don't give fixed group sizes - however, the lecturers, the respective course concept and the room size only allow a certain number of participants. Please take this into account if you want to register on an already very full list. We all want to feel comfortable in the courses. Most workshops are offered several times during the festival.
What shoes and clothing should I wear during the workshops?
The dance rooms can only be entered barefoot or with indoor shoes. We recommend sports shoes for most workshops.
Otherwise, please bring comfortable clothing in which you can move well.
For which level are the workshops planned? Do I need to have previous experience?
As every year, participants of all levels are welcome: Beginners as well as experienced participants will get to enjoy the appropriate formats.
The workshops cover a broad spectrum of rhythms, singing and dance, each at a different level. You choose what you feel comfortable with and in which areas you want to challenge yourself.
With the division into three levels we would like to help you to get an idea of the level of difficulty. However, you can decide for yourself which courses you would like to attend.
Which language is spoken in the workshops?
If you do not speak English at all or not so well, there will always be someone on the course who translates. In this case, please become active yourself and ask other participants right at the beginning of the course.
In recent years, besides German and English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian and many other languages have been spoken.
What age group is the festival for?
The age of the participants is very mixed.
Festival tickets can be booked from the age of 16. Last year the oldest participant was already well over 70.
Can I bring my child to the workshops?
It is possible to register a minor child if you are a legal guardian. Please write us a message beforehand.
Our special Kids workshop is for children aged 8 to 12. The 90-minute workshop is offered every morning during the festival days. It can be combined in the family package with the taster course for adults.
More information can be found by clicking on the respective product in our online shop.
Will I receive a ticket for the workshops by post?
No, we will not send you a ticket by post. If you purchased your ticket through our website, you will receive an email confirmation and your name will be on a list. This list will be deposited at the check-in counter.
What's the family package?

offered at the same time instead of the introductory course.
The taster course for adults costs 20€ per person, the Kids workshop 15€ per child. For each additional child it will be 1€ cheaper.
